Kismet Hardy sing songs of love and loss, hearts of darkness, souls searching for light, of the sea and the seasons, fate and the faithless, the personal and the political, of origins and endings; the places where land and ocean blurs into infinite skies. We are landlocked lovers of the sea: we invite you to join us in our songs.

Formed in late 2010, Kismet Hardy are a four-piece contemporary folk band from Northamptonshire, offering an exciting mix of their own original modern folk songs and radical re-inventions of traditional tunes, all with a striking funky twist.

Kismet Hardy seek to combine the best of the lyrical, emotional and melodic intensity of traditional folk with the groove of funk and energy of indie, so offering a new take on English Dance Music, rooted in and respectful to the tradition, but open to the wider world.

Kismet Hardy's second gig was supporting Isambarde at the Great Knight Folk Club in February 2011.  Particularly notable amongst our many 2011 gigs since then have been a return to the Great Knight supporting Radio 2 Folk Duo of the Year Nancy Kerr and James Fagan; and appearances at The Merry Tom (Brixworth) Folk Festival, the Bardic Picnic 2011, the Foxhill Farm Festival and the Potbelly Autumn (Kettering) Folk Festival.
